2018 Chevrolet Equinox: Lean, Mean… and Strong

The all-new Chevrolet Equinox has been completely redesigned for the 2018 model year; a redesign that includes shedding 400 pounds of extra weight! So, what do drivers gain by this 10% body-mass loss? For starters, our most popular crossover is now more agile on the road and offers drivers a more safe, comfortable driving experience.

Thanks to a lighter, stiffer, and stronger structure, the 2018 Equinox rewards drivers in the following areas:

SAFETY: High-strength and ultra-high strength steel creates a safety cage around its passengers, which are complimented by the high-level restraint systems and available safety features.

RIDE & HANDLING: By reducing the chassis flex in the Equinox suspension system, Chevrolet engineers were able to focus more on overall ride comfort and precision on the road.

QUIETNESS & REFINEMENT: The stiffer body-structure of the Equinox also pays off when it comes to blocking out exterior noise and vibrations. Contributing the overall weight loss of the Equinox, the stiffer body-structure also means that engineers could reduce the amount of sound-absorbing materials in the overall design.

FUEL ECONOMY: This might seem like a no-brainer, but we’re pretty excited about this added benefit of the 2018 Equinox! The lower the weight, the better then fuel efficiency. The all-new Equinox delivers EPA estimated 32MPG and 29MPG on the highway with the standard 1.5L turbo and 2.0L turbo engines. The diesel engine offers a GM-estimated 40MPG on the highway.

Chevrolet takes the Redline to the next level

Earlier this month at the Chicago Auto Show, Chevrolet announced the Redline special edition trim series across nine of its cars, trucks, and crossovers! Redline first made an appearance as a concept back in 2015 at the SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) in Las Vegas and has since become a reality!

All models in the Redline series come equipped with unique accent packages: black wheels featuring red lines, black-out grilles, black badges and black Chevy bowtie logos. Depending on the vehicle, individual models will start to differ based on customers’ preferences.

Redline trims will be available to order on the 2017 Cruze Sedan, 2017 Cruze Hatch, 2017 Colorado, 2017 Camaro, 2017 Colorado, 2017 Silverado 1500, 2018 Malibu, 2018 Trax, 2018 Equinox, and 2018 Traverse.

Earlier this month, Chevrolet unveiled the 2018 Traverse.  It is inspired by it’s full sized SUVs, and remains a true eight-passenger, three-row family crossover. Designed for all ages and lifestyles, the all new Traverse will keep passengers safe, comfortable and connected.

Although the Traverse will be similar in size to the Tahoe, it will not be equipped with the same towing capabilities.  Instead, the Traverse will serve better at hauling your friends and family around safely and comfortably on road trips.
