Most brake pads have wear detectors that make a high-pitched warning sound, alerting you to have your brakes checked right away. You should go to the dealership to get your brakes checked as soon as possible once you hear that sound because every time you use your brakes in your daily drive, you are wearing your brakes down even more. Driving with worn brakes can potentially damage other parts of your vehicle like your rotor, which means your service costs will go up.
